undercounter brackets
adapting GCT brackets for undercabinet mounting of I-opener

I have a couple of i-openers and very little counter space. I've been told that the GCT comes with a set of brackets that will attach to the i-opener and allow it to swing out from under an overcounter cabinet. Does anyone have a set that they aren't going to use? I would be willing to trade or pay whatever is fair.

Tnx

Just for giggles and grins, I've emailed Gateway asking for price and leadtime on the entire base assembly. First they told me to send it in for repairs, but I told them I just wanted an extra base for mounting under-cabinet without sacrificing the original. I actually want it for my iO, it looks cooler. Let's see what they come back with, I'll post when I get more info from them....

The sign of a truly devious mind! Way to go! They probably want about $136.50 for it. But as they say, there's no harm in trying

I toyed with the idea of mounting it under a cabinet but it doesn't swivel quite enough to be used while standing, so I gave up on the idea.

If I ever get this thing off the bench and back together, I'll probably put it undercounter in the kitchen to replace the current kitchen counter iOpener. I'm looking at mounting the base to a 'lazy susan' type swivel so I can rotate the whole unit left to right. That way it can be used for surfing from the breakfast bar counter, or rotated towards the main kitchen for use as a 'cooking appliance'. Though I will come up with a way to quickly/easily detach the GCT base from the swivel so it can be moved when needed, along with a place to stash the keyboard when not in use. This CPU is still slow as snail snot, but it should be OK for such tasks. Stay tuned....

I am going to mount the GCTP in my kitchen under a countertop and was
wondering if there was fold it back so that its flush with the bottom of the cabinet
that its screwed into.

From what I gather, it looks like it can only lock in so that its straight down
or unlock and let it hang at an angle.

I know that you flip the screen sideways by just turning it, but I want to unlock the plastic latch and actually have it fold all the way up so it flush (not viewable).

Any Ideas? Maybe Velcro??

It needs to be an inexpensive hack, preferably using my existing mount from
the gctp.

Thx,

Teksavy
