I have GCT ethernet version. I successfully installed a laptop harddrive and installed win me.
I installed all drivers from freedrive.
Does the ethernet vesion come with modem? It is not recognizing modem and I cannot see a modem in system devices.
Also, I installed the video driver successfully. Which monitor should I install? currently it says default monitor?

Please help

When you installed the laptop drive, did you take the modem out? Where did you mount the hard drive?

Use the Modem Applet in Control Panel. (Not SYSTEM, unless Your Com Ports are not right)
Delete All Modems If there are any more/different than what you expect.
Then reInstall. Yes, there are 2 Modems in the Ethernet Version. Good Luck !

The HPNA model has technically two modems, the ethernet model only has the one that is on the 4 mounting posts. The Mini-PCI ethernet card is only a ethernet network card.

Both versions of course have the 56k modem (on the 4 mounting posts like the i-Opener) and the HPNA Mini-PCI card has HPNA and a modem, note the modem on the HPNA is a soft Win-modem type enabled by the drivers, Could this is most likly why it's not utilized in the Midora Linux as drivers for most software modems under linux are almost unheard of??

Thanks Guys !!
I was able to install the standard 56k v90 modem driver on com1.
Also, what monitor should i select. Currently it shows as "default monitor" in system devices.
Is there a specific driver for the monitor type?

please let me know
