I saw at bestbuy 128mb Notebook memory is $19.99 after mail in rebate.
Has anyone tried this memory with the GCT?
Is there any special memory GCT needs.

I don't remember the brand or the specific configuration of the SODIMM (I don't have the stuff in front of me now), but...

My second GCT is using a 128MB SODIMM that I got from Best Buy. I forget if it was $20 or $30 after the rebate. The prices seem to keep dropping. It works fine. No problems at all.

Bought today at my local Circuit City: 128mb sodimmm pc100 for
$40 - $25 rebate = $15 + tax. Great deal considering the tax is
much less than any s/h charges I found on the net.

Before anybody goes to Circuit City I'd like to report that
the SODIMM I bought there didn't work. I saw in another thread
that only single-bank SODIMMs will work, and I'm wondering that
this one probably isn't single-bank. It has 8 chips on it, 4 on
each side. I tested some others from my Laptop and they worked
fine, but they were not the 128MB kind.
The strange thing is this: it seems that my GCT on-board memory
is 64MB and the SODIMM module is only 32MB. When I tested my
Laptop's 64MB module on it the amount reported was 112MB, which
is correct because the Transmeta uses 16MB = 128MB - 112MB.
I was wondering if somebody else had problems with 128MB modules
and did something to make them work (maybe a BIOS setting)???

BigDog,
What's the brand of your Circuity City SODIMM. Mine is CENTON
and when I boot up the GCT has no life sifgal... It light's up
the power led, I can hear something in the HD, but the display
remains blank. With other SODIMMs I tested it was fine.

I'm pretty sure mine was Centon, it's been a couple months ago but I haven't had any problems.
