I'm having a problem with the touchscreen drivers for WinME, was wondering if anyone had a similar problem or a solution.

First off, I've got a HPNA GTCP and just put a clean install of WinME on a new hard drive. Downloaded the drivers from BigDog and proceeded to add them. Display and HPNA drivers went through A-OK. However, when I installed the touchscreen software, started to run into problems. It worked quite well for an hour or so. When I rebooted, got the Blue Screen Of Death and a "Windows Protection Error. You need to restart your computer. System halted." error.

Okay, so I reboot and select "Step-by-Step" loading of drivers. WHen I bypass the VMK712.vxd all is well. When I let VMK712.vxd run, it's back to the BSOD.

So then i uninstall the touchscreen drivers and it reboots just fine. Try to add the touchscreen drivers again and back to the BSOD.

Does anyone have advice on how I can resolve this conflict before I wipe the drive and start all over?

Thanks in advance,
- Erik

I had the same problem when I used the Control panel applet to calibrate the screen instead of the system tray applet. The X maximum value became much less than the Y maximum. Each boot would bring the dreaded blue screen. I entered 'safe mode' and reset the x value to the same as the y. (ignoring the errors that said the TS processor and drivers could not be found.)
Next boot every thing worked OK and I re-calibrated with the tray applet. Everything has worked normally since. (Ha. That been two whole evenings, now.)

So, now I need help with double click on the touch screen. Has anyone found a driver that allows an error circle around the second tap to be considered the same position as the first tap. In WinCE, the second tap can be calibrated for slop. I just can't get the doule click to work reliably on the GCTP. Can someone help?

Check out the Stylistic 1200 forum here. Should be able to find links for the Windows pen drivers. These do what you are asking for just fine on my 510, but I have not tried them yet on the GCT.

Thanks, I will check. I notice Fujitsu's Stylistic and Lifebook series of touch screens do come from the same plant that created the GCTP. Could they actually be the same touch screen and processor? If so, drivers and calibration should be the same. Thanks for a direction to look.

It is a sad thing..., I have looked at my 6th touchscreen driver. I have downloaded three from 3M and two from Fujitsu and one from Microtouch. I even begged at ICS tech support (the folks responsible for the current working (sorta) software.) All to no avail. All of it is for capacitance (MK715) screens. So, I give up for now. I still have hope that ICS will upchuck a newer driver from their development kit. I will report again if anything improves.
