Newbie Question - HomePNA or Ethernet : How do I tell?

I just got my GCT that I bought on e-bay. I took it apart this evening and am wondering how to tell if the machine has the ethernet or the HPNA adapter. From the machine, there was one card that has the notation "Model : HM-10M/D1A" and there is another one that notes "Action-Tec LF560LKIQ". These are plugged into CN21 an CD30 (respectively). The CN20 connector (which appears to go to the ethernet plug) has nothing plugged into it. My hunch is that I have a HPNA model. If so, how can I convert it to an ethernet model?

Thanks in advance!

Yes, you have a HPNA GCT, changing it to ethernet is simple as just swapping the HPNA mini-pci card for an ethernet one.

You can find them on eBay, search for mini-pci ethernet. Or you may find someone in the swap section who might trade.

I have a hpna model and I bought a mini-pci network card. It's an ActionTec model MP100IM. When I boot from my 32MB CF card, I can set my network info (ip address, netmask, etc...) but I'm not making a hardware link to my router. My light isn't lit on my router. Do I need a cable that goes from my mini-pci card to CN21? I tried using the tiny cable that came with my hpna card, but the connector is different. It only fits in CN20 and CN30.

If I'm not mistaken that cable is for the phone jack to the HPNA card. An ethernet card should automagically use the wiring from the mini-pci slot to the back-panel RJ45 jack. There were other threads elsewhere in the forums.
