Here's an idea: dual-boot from CF?

I still haven't played with my GCTP yet, but since I saw people here removing the beatiful InstantAOL software and even more cool gecko embebbed engine (sorry, I love the lizzard :) replacing it with something as lame as MSFT windows 98 (the windows UI and logo on this device, for me, makes it lose all its sex appeal :)... I had an idea:

Would it be possible, with a 128mb CF card (or 256mb... but those are still too f' expensive...) to copy the "original boot partition" (InstantAOL), and add a SECOND partition (on the CF) with say the latest Midori Linux, latest Netscape 6.1, bash, etc, and SELECT WHICH ONE to boot every time the unit is powered up?

I'd love to have "real linux" for my use, and the original "instant aol" for the kids.

Would this be possible? I have done this with good old Partition Magic on PCs, but I'm not sure if the CF cards mimic a HD or are a different beast, and how would the GCTP's Bios and software like the messing with the boot sectors.

But the idea is certainly cool (at least for me :)... a dual-boot Touchpad with 2 different personalities.

Comments?

Regards
Willy
