In reading through this board, I can see that lots of people have tried lots of diffent SODIMM's with lots of differnt results. Maybe I'm a little dense after a long day, but it is not at all clear which SODIMM's work in GCT's and which don't. I want to add as much RAM as possible, but wish to avoid multiple buy/return cycles.
Can anyone clear this up? Which SODIMM's (make & part numbers) can you confirm actually work and which don't?
I used a 256MB SODIMM that I found at compgeeks.com. Part No. 32X64NB100-N
I am running midori linux on mine. I don't have the exact numbers with me at work, but I think that in the stock config with Netscape and xterm running I had maybe 2MBs free mem and it was slow. I noticed an improvement in speed with the new SODIMM and had lots of free memory to do stuff. I hope this helps.
