Just opened my GCT. Have had it for a while. Am lucky enough to have IDE header already on the board. Noticed other threads about pin 25 being clipped. I am wonder why this is. I have a Toshiba HDD2146 9.5 that I want to install. There is a pin missing on the HDD at pin 19. This would match if counting over from pins 43/44 on GCT header. Wonder if there is a correlation between these two and how do I go about replacing pin 25. Have seen vague description in other threads. Please elaborate!
Thanks

I do understand the point of pin 19 on the Hard drive. I don't understand why pin 25 has been clipped on the GTC header. Is it difficult to replace this pin ( I imagine I'll need it once my badflash ribbon gets here)? Do I have to replace the whole header?

How steady is your hand...How are your soldering skills?
Dremel tool with ultra fine ball bit and no caffine.
Grind away the plastic support next to clipped pin 25 to expose what is left. Desolder it and install a new header pin.
A little epoxy if you wish for additional support to the pin once it's installed.
Before starting anything observe ESD precautions.
