Problems with Stock GCT Booting

I currently have a GCT that I bought and everything is working great on it.

I decided to buy another to give to my sister-in-law but it isn't booting. I just get the Gateway Splash screen and it hangs there. There is also a fuzzy little column down the left side of the screen that starts at the top and ends half way down. I switched the power supplies and the same thing. I even switched the CF cards and still it won't boot.

Does anybody have any ideas? Could this be memory related?

Any ideas would be helpful, thanks!

Scott

First, who did you buy the new problem-gct from?

Have you tried swapping the memory with your working gct? Also, check to see that no pins are bent on either the cf port on the motherboard, or the ide port. Just an idea (a dumb one probably).

Another thing to think about...are the versions of your gct's the same?

I think it's your cf disk...you might try writing codeman's linux image to it if possible, just to see if that makes any difference.

Of course, make sure all the connections are solid, it might just be a loose wire.

Hope this helps,
Aaron
