More Memory = Faster Speed???

Hello,

I have a Gateway Touch pad with Win me installed. I was thinking about upgrade/ add more memory, say 128mb or 256k. Will I see the faster speed with more memory?

I have added 256mb with a modest increase in speed, esp when booting; The best increase in speed was when I combined the added memory with MS Win2K or XP.
