XP Touch Screen Driver

Hello,

I am planning to install XP for my Gateway touchpad ( I have 2gb harddrive), Do I need,

1. More memory, say 128 or 256k
2. XP touch screen driver (Where can I download the driver?)

I have a 486-233mhz laptop with XP, it is very very very slow, Will the Gateway touch screen have this kind of problem, or it will run like with MS ME but a little faster, Thanks for all of your help.

No driver for the touch screen yet under XP or Win2000, keep an eye on the developement of the other Transmeta processor IA's that are coming out with XP and we might be able to get a driver.

256 memory will really help, 128 would all most be required to really do something with XP; I would say the GCT runs XP fairly good, should be a lot better than 233mhz (Pentium that is, I am not aware of a 233 486) Over all I would say that the GCT is comparable to a Celeron 333 mhz PC. What really hurts it the most is the lack of video power and quality (DSTN instead of TFT)

Silly newbie question, but my GTC is being shipped and I want to be ready for it when I get my hands on it. I need it to network to my LAN and have touchscreen available.

How are you connecting the HD and getting it to boot from HD instead of the CF?

Thanks,

Taking the CF out will make the IDE header "active"...

You might need to solder a 44 Pin 2mm header on if yours has only the pads, I have a few extra headers from soldering them on, Email Me if you want one. I also believe I might have enought parts to make up a couple of IDE cables too.

I wonder if the Progear 1050 XP drivers would work, it really seems to be the same platform as the webpad...
You can read instructions here: http://www.whiningdog.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=112
Here's the Progear FAQ - http://www.whiningdog.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=28#31
