All-As-Is has a dutch auction for 30 GCT's.....

Starting price is $49 (shipping us $22) I have bought several from him, they all worked however they they don't come with AC adapters REMEBER HOWEVER they are sold "ASIS" with no DOA warrenty.

what did you use for a power cord? I don't have a GCT yet, so I have no idea if the power supply is built in or if there is a converter on the plug. Does it use a standard PC cord?

The power supply is not built in, it is the standard power supply that all Gateway Solo notebooks use. 19 Volt & 50-70 watts depending on the actual power supply.

Well, all-as-is is apparently scraping the bottom of the barrel now.

I won two of these units from a recent auction. One of the units appears in OK physical shape, but when the power is switched on, I get the Gateway/AOL logo screen, which then goes white with a mouse cursor. It then cycles between a darker screen and a lighter screen every five seconds or so. I can move the cursor with my finger. The other one has a scarred-up faceplate on one edge that looks like it was dragged across a concrete floor, and the digitizer has a nice scratch on it. That unit won't boot up--press the power switch and it lights, then goes dark again. I've sent him a message asking for a replacement for the scarred-up one (the other may be repairable, I don't know)--I don't hold much hope that he'll allow an exchange. We'll see, and I'll report my results.

I'd exercise caution in buying his GCTs. The first two I got around December were great, but I think he's getting to the last of the stock.

An update...

The GCT that would stick at the "flashing screen" had a bad CF card. Changing that out made it work OK.

Tried sending all-as-is an email--his mailbox is full and mail bounces back.

I just got 2 GCTs from all-as-is on ebay and they were much better then the earlier post. Both booted up to the aol stuff. One even had the protective plastic on the screen. Tested both keyboards, and they worked fine.

Now I just need to figure out how to get a laptop HD in place and get them on my network.

I've bought 5 GCT's from all-as-is, and all but one worked. All the keyboards worked. All the lcd's were in perfect condition.

I'm fairly pleased with his items, i just got a 24 port 10/100 switch from him for $25 that works perfectly (was as-is in auction).
The only quam I have with him is that his response rate on email is not the greatest.

If anyone is in need of a good faceplate or any other parts such as the stand or anything like that, i've got an extra one that i've parted out. I've already sold the lcd and the keyboard, all that is left is the (dead) motherboard and the case.
