I can't solder! :(
Alternatives to soldering?

I'm new to the BBS and have had a GTC sitting on my shelf for a year at least and now that I've finally gotten around to working on it, I realise the soldering is beyond me cuz of limited experience. So far after reading everything I've noticed my only alternatives if I want to run XP on the GTC are:

1)CF to HDD for 35+7
http://www.advantech.com/epc/newsletter/v34-10-15_00/4IDEsup.htm

2)Bigger CF (cant fit XP unless I get a 1gig+ microdrive?)

3)Forget about XP and go with a smaller/diffrent OS

4)Buy a newer version of the GTC offa someone

5)Pay someone to solder for me

So far #5 looks like its gonna be the only way. I have already an old Laptop harddrive and replacement keyboard. Any offers for $ soldering for me? I don't have the header or ide cable tho.

BigDog said he can't solder right now, but I was wondering if anyone out there could for me. I'd love to install a HD, but I have hands like a 90 year old on crack.

Well, you do know that touchscreen drivers for XP dont exist yet, right? I have a couple of gct's running 98se on 128meg cards. I mapped a drive on a network share to install software on and have wireless 802.11b minipic's in them...

Guess, if you really want the header on them, I can do it. email me: spamerssux AT yahoo DOT com
