I wonder if the Progear 1050 XP drivers would work, it really seems to be the same platform as the webpad...
You can read instructions here: http://www.whiningdog.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=112
Here's the Progear FAQ - http://www.whiningdog.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=28#31

RE:WinXP Touchscreen drivers at last ? (modified 0 times)
Well... I took the hard drive outta my laptop this weekend and put it in the GCTP (Had to do a clean install on my laptop anyways so I figured I'd try the XP Touchscreen drivers) First..... It's kinda slow..... Second and most important... I Kinda got the drivers to work......
I installed them and got them working... even seemed a little less buggy than with WinMe... but.... After a reboot I can't get them working again... no matter what I do... I removed them and reinstalled them and still nothing... Maybe I knocked something loose or something in my excitement so I'll check the touchscreen connection tomorrow and see if that's the problem.. has been touchy in the past...
Anyways.. somebody else try it and make sure I wasn't just some freak chance of nature.. got another GCTP on the way.. I'll try on that too when I get it...

Thanks for trying them out !
Looks like it's worth the time installing in WinXP then.
Was there a site for other drivers (sound, video, etc...) or does WinXP have them all ?
I wonder if Bigdog hadn't put up a page with them.

When I moved my hd from my laptop over it needed me to provide the Display drivers. I had already downloaded them to the hard drive and the Ethernet drivers which I never did get working I think it's because my laptop had a modem and ethernet built in plus a wireless network card installed before I moved the drive over probably should have uninstalled all that crap first. WinXP configured sound without a problem and found a modem no problem. like I said.. i'm going to try it with a clean install of WinXP once my next GCTP gets here... already have a new drive waiting for it... can't wait just hope I can duplicate the touchpad driver again since I couldn't do it with that install, probably something i screwed up that I couldn't find out about till a reboot.

Yes Yellow2; XP detected everthing fine. The only issue I had was that after installing and letting the "Windows Update" update the drivers for the video, I couldn't get the external VGA out to work (it was a pain because I had the GCT apart and was using the VGA out to run the install). With the orginal video drivers (the ones that XP detected during install) I could go between the LCD and VGA display; after updating drivers from either Microsoft or Linux+ drivers the VGA out would be disabled.
The only other thing was that it detected a soft modem that it could not find a driver for; apparently there is a software modem built into the I/O controller chip.
I was using a ethernet version when I installed and it detected the ethernet correctly, I am not sure about the HPNA drivers but I am fairly sure drivers can be found for it.

This is for the fellow hacker that I sold that GCT to w/t the USB cd drive....
Can you email me again? my Outlook express at home shot craps and don't believe my reply got sent AND I lost your email address.
OT for everyone else... What would cause MS's OLE to lose everything? everytime I click on a folder (inbox, sent items) the msg's in that folder disappear.
