How does the display look?

I went to Gateway store to see how the gct looks in person..i was kind of disapointed..maybe it was because of the overhead spot lights but the screen was not very bright..it didnt even compare with the lcd monitors for sale.
Hopefully the display will be visible in my car.

For the people who already have one, whats your accessment of the display?

Lets see, If I guess the type correctly, you might have a problem with the display in the car too. Since you already have an I-Opener, and a CF-01, plus the Epods, and all this connected to a GPS unit. You better double check the alternator to make sure you can run all this equipment to play MP3's, and not get lost. Come on people, do you really need to stick this #### in your cars. There must be a darker, moister place to put all these machines????

Back to the...display !
Let me out it this way: it's the best DSTN I've ever seen. While not as good as my Sony laptop's TFT, it's really got good contrast and "deep" colors. DSTN comes with streaking of windows, but it's quite ok.
It's really night and day compared with the iOpener, which was an improvement over the webplayer !

Thus it appears as we approach $300 screen quality may yet again take another leap?

Btw did anyone notice a giant sized twin of this unit (I think with a 14" display) sitting nearby at a gateway store with a laughable list price of $2,000 (well ok it was $1995 I rounded).
