I am trying to create a midori version that will support the hpna adapter. It will take me some time to build an environment, however so far I found the linux drivers (for anyone with a ready environment...)

  Yeah, those are the drivers I'm looking at. I don't have any HPNA GCT's, but I can get an
  image together for you guys to test. The only problem is that I'm on a contract with
  Boeing out in Cali and my GCT's are sitting on my desk in Orlando (hence my site's
  sad uptime record).

  Anyway, I'm using vmware on my laptop to create midori images.
  Hopefully, I can create a virtual GCT session to at least test the fact that the image
  boots.

Some good new (I think),

I successfully created an image than contains a compiled kernel with hpna driver. The image includes the il.o file. Right now, I am still working on initialization, configuration and the testing on the gct connected to xp box..

Updates will followed, as the story develops.

Ok,
I can't assign eth0 to the il module, therfore ifup of eth0 failed.
Does midori uses modules.conf at all?
any ideas?

Good deal!!

Have you tried just making the /etc/modules.conf file in the cache/root/etc directory and making an image from that?
It should work, since all the modutils are there.

Yes I did :(
I tried to see the feedback with and without insmod il. The results are interesting. the Aliasing between eth0 and il, may work after all. I have no idea though what is going wrong.

before running 'insmod il' , after trying 'ifup eth0', I am getting:
Operation failed
SIOCADDRT: No such device

SIOCADDRT: Network is down

I unpluggend the hpna card, run cat /proc/pci, replugged the card, run cat /proc/pci (again). The unit recognises the hpna card as device no 8 (although it does not write anything about the chipset, or other high level information about the type of card (i.e. hpna something))

I have no idea why it doesn't work. I hope that it is not a bad driver...

ok,
I used static ip and 'ifconfig eth0 192.168.10.21 netmask 255.255.255.0 up' (192.168.10.20 is my gw). Then I run ifconfig. the good news is that eth0 uses irq 11, which happen to be the hpna card. I was also able to ping myself. unfortunately, only myself. I can't ping the gct from the other computer either.

the routing table on the gct looks fine:
192.168.10.0 * 255.255.255.0 U 0 0 0 eth0

Still 'ifup eth0' is returning errors. this time: 'Can't configure a static IP w/o an IP address, a subnet mask, and network specified' (the ip and the subnet were configured, not sure about the network).

Any luck with the HPNA image? I'd really like to use my extra GCT in my bedroom as an alarm clock, but since I rent, I can't run Cat 5 through the walls.
