Calling all H/W Guru's, GCT no booty
power circuitry problem?

Picked up a couple "as-is" GCT's on Ebay. Some of them
will not boot up.

No video, but get the usual power-on speaker click, and
the front power button LED comes on green the instant I
plug in the 19v (known good) power supply. They all do
this.

I have isolated the problem down to the "main" circuitboard,
or motherboard, by swapping one in from a good GCT.

I am guessing that it may be a problem in the power section
of the motherboard?

Wonder if anyone here may have some clues on how to fix this
problem?

Thanks mucho!

Try hooking up a VGA monitor and seeing if you get any display, I don't have a GCT handy to tell you the header label but as I recall it's the 10 pin header near the CPU... it's a 2mm header like the IDE interface below is the pinouts (same as the i-Opener) the CN1 connecter is the labeled header on the i-opener, I don't recall what it is on the GCT.

If you get nothing from that, if the IDE header has been soldered on, check for short circuits esp if the solder job is messy. I have brought a couple dead gct's back from the grave by applying a hot soldering iron to confirm connections on the header.

Tnx BigDog,

I think your referring to CN3 (near the LynxEM+ chip). I'll try to slap something
together this weekend to check it out. These dont have any IDE headers. Will
post back later...
