| I have the Software for the AOL for home networks. It wouldn't work for me and here's why. I have 2 systems splitting a Cable line thru a 10/100 Linsys switch. I pay 9.99 a month more because I use AOL as another means for the rest of the Family to use (EASY INTERFACE). I tried connecting the GW.T.P. to the switch and installing the Software, which I had to call Gateway to get, and It would not allow me to create an INSTANT AOL ACCOUNT. Instant AOL can only be used if you are a FULL subscriber to AOL. I have full access, but I'm not paying 24.00$ a month so they don't count that as FULL access. I was on the phone w/AOL for about a total of 6 hours, and the bottom line was, to get around all of it, I would have to pay 24.00 + 9.99 for the touchpad to have access to using the Home Network Software. I started getting technical with one of the main guys in the INSTANT AOL department and he gave up with me and said sir " We are still in Beta stage of all of this, everything doesn't work yet" LOL!! Thats when I stumbled on to this site, linked from an Ebay auction. Instead of returning the POS, I'm going to do what U all are doing. If you want the software, I'll burn a copy. I can get it to you faster than Gateway can. It took them 2 days to figure out that they even had the CD to give out :) | |
