Not much to report really. By putting DOS on the CFlash, I was able to boot into...DOS. Keyboard works fine.
I tried to save the BIOS with Flash821.exe but was told that it was the wrong motherboard/chipset
I hope Badflash had success in locating some drivers over the week-end.
If anyone knows where to get an image of CE, let me know !
Will do more testing tomorrow and when my "iopener" cable comes in the mail.
While, I am not sure about Your Error, Error messages are normal for this Program & our Use.
I normally get 2 errors when I Flash a BIOS with it. Just ignore them !
didn't want to kill the BIOS, not being familiar witht he program...
Anyway I think Badflah said he'd made a copy of the BIOS so you could get it from him to find the proper key combination.
cheers
what kind of drivers are you looking for? I found that i have a mini laptop with the same CPU and similar chipset. It uses the cx5520, except the video is a neomagic. Its an ast laptop, the ast 280m, you can find the drivers on there website. Its worth looking at.
I think I have the right drivers, just need to try them out. Been swamped getting orders out and that has to come first. Only so many hours in a day and I've already given up sleeping...
What did you use to put dos on the CF? Did you just save command.com or? I have not seen an option on any of the CF cards I have to make em bootable....
I believe I did a sys x: and then copied other system files. As Badflash said, copy mode.com and then type mode co80 to get a more legible screen diplay.
