So...is it dead?

I've been watching this board for a long time. I bought 4 GTPs, 3 work, one's dead. I've waited and read, hoping for new developments before starting my experimentation. I wanted to use mine for iPronto-like IR remote controls. THe only thing I've seen for Linux that seems to do this is LiRC, and it's not totally GUI-based. It still requires some command-line futzing for learning new codes.

Chaezewhiz appears MIA--doesn't answer emails on his site, site hasn't been updated in over a year. No new builds. No new Windows drivers beyond Win 98/Me.

Is it safe to say this project is dead?

Na... it's not dead, it's just sleeping!!

I am waiting for a cheaper supplier for GCT's and a better idea for the TFT displays since the apparently TFT works aslong as you have the right cable to connectto the TFT connector that's on the mainboard.

I'm still playing as well. After much effort (the transmeta midori site seems to be no more) I have managed to put together a build environment and create images. I am currently trying to get the "Links graphical browser" to compile in the midori environment but running into problems with X and glibc unresolved references.

Anyway - if you are looking to created your own build environment there is possibly still help around.

Uh-oh...I thought I'd downloaded Midori but can't seem to locate it. Is there a reliable download site somewhere?

What I did was take Lee's environment as a start. He doesn't include most of the original sources and the build files try to download them from the transmeta site which fails. I simply downloaded the source files (tar.gz usually) from various places on the net and put them in the repository directory.

There is this site http://uclinux.home.at/midori/ that does have some stuff. I am using 2.4.20 kernel however using patches from Lee's site.
