I'm preparing a PC to do development/compiling of GTP images. I'd read in a couple of threads that, to make a bootable CF card, I'd need an IDE reader/Writer.
Is that REALLY necessary? All I'm able to turn up are USB/USB 2.0 devices. Besides, I'd rather use the IDE chain for important stuff, like disk drives. :)
It just makes it easier esp when you are dealing with boot partions and such to be in true IDE mode.
Otherwise you may need to use Ransish disk manager or similer utilies. True IDE CF drives aren't hard to find and personally other that not being hot swappable they are better esp with speed.
