Touchscreen alignment?

Anyone out there had touchscreen alignment trouble on a GCT?

I've got three units and swapped the microdrive between them and the trouble stays with the screen. So I don't think it's a software issue.

What's happening is the screen seems to have a vertical shifting problem of somet kind. It seems be working fine in the horizontal axis. That is, when the pointer is drawn across the screen the mouse stay right on that horizonal position. But as I draw the pointer across the screen it starts out "too high" on the left, crosses the center and the goes "too low" on the right-hand side of the screen. That is, even after *repeated* calibration attempts and reboots, the digitizer seems to have some sort of issue with how it samples the vertical axis as it moves along the horizontal.

Anyone else run into this sort of problem? Anyone have a solution or suggestions? If it's broken is there anyone that can fix it?

HI, GOOD TO SEE SOMEONE WORKING ON GWTP AGAIN. I HAD ALL THE SAME PROBLEMS AS YOU AND OTHERS DID NOT COME UP WITH ANY RESULTS THAT FIXED THE PROBLEM OF THE THE ADJUSTMENT THE MORE I TRIED TO FIX IT ONLY MADE IT WORSE. I DID READ THOUGH THAT SOMEONE GO A TOUCH SCREEN
DRIVER FOR W2K AND XP AND IT WORKED BETTER THAT ME. SO THAT MIGHT BE A GOOD WAY TO GO. THAT'S WHAT I WOULD TRY. I HAVE THE DRIVER THAT WAS SAID TO BE FOR W2K XP IF YOU WANT IT. I HAVEN'T TRIED IT THOUGH. ON ANOTHER NOTE I HAD AND STILL HAVE PROBLEMS WITH THE SOUND WORKS OK THEN GOES DEAD HAVE TO REBOOT THEN IT WORKS AND DOES SAME THING. I SET POWER SETTING TO NEVER SHUT DOWN AND BE ALWAYS ON ETC. BUT NO HELP. ONE MORE POINT OF INTEREST, THERE IS A SUPPLIER / HTTP://WWW.INTERFACEMASTERS.COM THEY HAVE A MINI PCI TO PCI ADAPTER CONVERTER THAT PLUGS INTO THE MINI PCI AND THEN HAS A REGULAR PCI SLOT THEY ONE WITH A CABLE AND TWO SLOTS IT WOULD MAKE LOADING O.S. EASY USING A SCSI CARD CD ROM DRIVE ETC. YOU COULD BUILD A TOUCH ON "STEROIDS".

Yikes, that'd be a real challenge to fit in a touchpad. That and I'm not sure the BIOS would know to boot from anything in it. But still, a clever idea.

This one might be a little more practical:

Or perhaps this mini-PCI to USB 2.0 card:

My touchscreen troubles appear to be hardware related, not software. Mainly because swapping the touchscreen out solved the problem. I'm still left with a unit that has the faulty touchscreen and would love to get it fixed.
