just got a couple old CGT that were just sitting there! they boot midori from some hdd but I'd like to go the CF route and nfs to my server for media file access. since I can't find any site still up (2005) like Lee's. Could anyone point me to download and instructions on midori.

Thanks

you can find midori at opensource.aol.com
they have the transmeta and aol version on the site for midori 2.3.6, 2.3.8, and 1.0 beta2.

All you need is ANY linux compatible CF reader, I've used USB ones, but my favorite is just a stock PCMCIA cf adaptor card, since my compile station is my old (I mean OLD) RedHat 6.2 Linux image on my laptop. I've had trouble compiling Midori on later releases, so just to the path of least resistance/security. Just don't connect to ANY network while you're running the image, if you can avoid it. RH 6* is not very secure, unless you really harden it.

If you want to install to a larger card, just use that card. I used the defautl 32MB card to fit all that I needed, but on one of my boxes I had a 256MB CF card in it, and just did the format and install. As part of the Midori installation it will overwrite the contents of whatever device you point it to, thus be careful and don't use the wrong /dev/sdX device.
