I guess this isn't really any surprise since the GCT ships with Linux. Since my GCT is somewhere between here and Taiwan, I was looking around the Midori website and saw that they have patches to XFree86 to support the touchscreen. So it should be relatively easy to apply these patches to the stock XFree86 source if you don't want to use Midori.
