Simple question. If you get the system from Gateway with the ethernet option installed does it also have the separate modem card installed?

just gopt mine...like 20 minutes ago...and yes, the ethernet model has a modem...as well as HPNA...it appears it is a simple add-on, not a replacement

now i am trying to figure out how to open this sucker up to check for the IDE header

stupid screw under the random door...anyway, no IDE for me...i will have to solder...something i have never done before...but it looks simple enough with the amount of space

If anyone finds out anymore info about the addon, post it. Maybe we can find a place that sells the addon. if the addon connects to the HPNA then the manufacturer of the HPNA would be a good start.

I'm confused, what Add-On are you referring to, the HPNA ?
My Ethernet version certainly doesn't have an HPNA card in there, it's the Realtek chip on the miniPCI, not the Broadcom (HPNA) chip.
The modem is the big black thingy with a Lucent chipset.
