CC has them in, and why no one was called. (modified 0 times) aslocal All around WA state, each store recieved about 20 IO's into their inventory (for example: at my store theres still 17 waiting to be processed, and about 19 in pickup) Surprisingly not to many people have picked them up =) The reason why no one was called is because the "special order" system in currently down on the computers. Typically the sales person recieves an email, saying that a product is in, call this customer to have them pick it up. Well, thats down, so we didnt recieve any emails to call the customers. Besides the fact that you only make a whopping $4 off of each IO sale, no ones too concerned. If you have them on SO, or never ordered one, Id call every few days. Quite a few stores actually have some closed box, that people cancelled their orders on. 05-18-2000 13:05:25

Theres a few stores in the WA area that has one or two still closed box. Interesting note: some jackass came in today, tried getting 2 more from special order (even though, he already picked up his in march) tried lying to us and said he never picked them up. Forced us to cycle count the damn things, and then he finally added he "may" have picked them up, and just forgot. I understand the obsession with these things, but the CC employees or managers really have abosolutly nothing to do with NPLI. 05-19-2000 22:12:38

Asked if my order had come in yet. His answer: "We haven't received any". I asked him to look up my ticket number. (I could hear key clicks) and he told me "No. None have come in these past three months". I then asked why all the OTHER ccitys in the area received several shipments and several people who ordered AFTER me but at different locations had received their order. He paused, then told me "Yours is in. You can pick it up right now". WTF? I picked it up, and I'm glad I got it (IO #8 for me... Only kept one for myself (*NOT* an ebay scum... they were for friends/family)), but this was strange. 05-19-2000 23:38:32

I didn't get around to going in to claim the refund; on a whim I checked this discussion yesterday, tried calling the service desk at my local store, the operator told me "mine was in"... go figure. Today, my wife calls to tell me that CC called and said my unit was in. That organization needs help. 05-24-2000 21:33:39

(modified 0 times) _buc_ No sht, i have called on my order (3/28) here in PHX about weekly this last month- after this post i again called (CC Store 3341) and after "repeated checks" was told some came in but were all pre-allocated. How many? sez i, cause there were 19 in front of me when i ordered. LSS, i am passed off to front desk who will "explain it to me". On an off topic side note: I'll have to say that in my dealings with CC that the quality of help that I find at CC is probably on par with McDonalds rejects. I didn't meet anyone there (out of dealing with 6 people) that could properly articulate a full comprehendable sentence - let alone actually LOOK at me when speaking. I found them rude, condiscending and flippant, I got the impression that no one there actually gave a damn about anything. I got my IO and left and probably will NEVER go back. This is my second purchase with them and I damn near didn't bother ordering the IO from them because of the first deal. I bought a 20 gig HD from them in February and the whole transaction took darn near 45 minutes between getting someone pryed away from yukking it up with co-workers to wait on us to the nincompoop having to track down his manager (who was yukking it up with bimbos on the OTHER side of the store) to ask a simple question I had. I ordered my I-O mid March, and after two bi-monthly attempts of trying to get answers out of the CC people, I decided to concentrate on other things. On a whim today, I went into CC and asked them about my order. They said it was in. I asked how long - "no idea" was the response (surprise). I asked why I wasn't contacted - "I don't know" (another surprise). This company is lame, but I finally got it. Now to open it and see what, and if, they modified it. 06-02-2000 16:58:14

So i got what appears to be a v3 with a bios dated 3/23 no torx screws and all the pins but gooped 06-07-2000 12:27:16

I have worked there for a long time, and i try to be as helpfull as possible, and so does everyone at my very small location in indiana. When it comes to the iopener ordeal,we really don't know anything about it. They pulled it and, at least at my location, have not told sales people anything else about it. I hope that these "lackluster" sales people dont ruin your image of CC, because we really do try very hard to give people a good experiance.
