iopener back at CompUSA web site

New Messageiopener back at CompUSA web site (modified 0 times) DoubleCheck
The CompUSA web site lists the i-opener again!

It does require the in-store signup with minimum 3-month committment. Basic unit is $100, what does three months cost, under $70, right?

That URL is long and ugly. If it doesn't work, search for 274376 at:

The web info is not always accurate. When I purchased mine in April, the web showed none in stock for the store in question. Over the phone they denied they had any or had received any. On pure whim, I dropped by and there they were.

Interestingly, from the Fedex labels and tracking info, I was able to determine that they had actually been delivered to that store some five or six days before. I had called during that period and been told that none had come in.

The only reliable way is to actually go to the store. Even then, they might "not know" that they have them.

hmm... i think their legal folks are in for another tusstle. the web site doesn't mention the tos and can be construed to be be an advertisement under the law. there is a case to be made for the bait and switch nature since this isn't ful disclosure of what they will ask for when you get there. but again even with 3 months and then a cancel, this is under $200 for a fun unit.

What does a in-store activation consist of? Does that make it unhackable?

when i looked at it, that wasn't there. i guess they quick fixed it. ok lets figure anyway: 1 i-opener + 3 months = $150 + tax or so. still a good price for the unit.

actually glad to see that they put the tos in there. if netpliance is to survive, they need the retail channel.

I work for Compusa (Florida)
And we got 8 of'em on order for the past 3 weeks, so far nothing yet.
It was 21 on order and then dropped to 8.
There probably can't supply all the the stores, and none of the store have them in stock but all in backorder.
