Network Appliance is buying privately held Orca Systems Inc, an expert
in Virtual Interface (VI) Architecture software for high performance
clustering and storage, for $49 million in cash, stock and options.
Orca of Waltham, Massachusetts will become a Network Appliance
development facility. In addition to the purchase price Network
Appliance said the deal includes another 280,000 shares, worth about
$22 million, based on undisclosed performance criteria. | |
