You can check the http://www.merinta.com site.

Basically, this is a CyrixGX based pc running some sort of JVM OS. Currently its GUI is reaaaalll sloww, takes a while for the trackball arrow to move, and entering data can have a wait and see delay of 1-2 seconds.

The keyboard is wireless though, and seems to work nice. NP should have considered it, considering they were already paying about $300-350/pc.

USB ports are currently unuseable, no way to contact Virginconnect and get any info whatsoever on the thing.

Check the webplayer areas, there are efforts to hack it, and maybe run Linux.

I think PicoBSD would be a viable alternative, as it would be easy to port FreeBSD's stable USB into the kernel.

There is a virgin connect webplayer forum towards the bottom of the I-hacker page. I have one - a nice little unit, but pretty slow. And Virgin has done a super clean job on the TOS. I am returning mine - there appears to be little progress in finding a hack that will keep Virgin happy and still let you turn it into a real computer. If you want details, go to www.virginconnectme.com
