IO v5???

New MessageIO v5??? (modified 0 times) Phillerup
Just got my IO last Friday from CC, Rise cpu, torx screws on mount, 2 labels, one silver one covering 1 torx screw and one paper one covering screw on rf shield. I can tab to view bios startup, and ctl-alt-esc works to get into bios and change boot order.
Got bios setup (D-A-scsi etc) to boot from hd. Opened the IO and found the bios had NO GOO (no epoxy) The bios says 3/23/2000

Others have had this problem
"When I attempted to power-up, nothing happened! Left cable attached to io but removed hd, the io booted up just fine (female voice etc). The IO booted into the sandisk despite the fact that I had changed the boot order to d-a-scsi.
Thought maybe I had plugged the hd backwards - tried it again no power up no hd noise no screen - nothing but nothing! Tried all four possibilities of hooking up cable and hd to IO - nothing! Tried another laptop hd configured for qnxflashing (maxtor mxt-251010AT) same lack of results. Tried plugging it in all four ways - nothing! Still boots just fine (if you want to use npli's service) without hd.
Am I missing something or is this a new version of the IO. I am confused because it absolutely refuses to even begin to start-up with a hd attached. Could thios be a bios issue, or perhaps has npli found a way to check to see if there is a hd attached and not boot? I am tempted to disaassemble my other io and remove the cable from it and use it to boot with, just to eliminate the possibility that the cable is the problem but I would prefer not too"

Anyone got any ideas? Have they got us stumped?

This is a V4 i-Opener, and you need to follow the directions for flashing to V1 BIOS.

Do V4's have a bios datye of 3-23-2000? I just got mine from CC and its intact pins, no apoxy etc, but bios date is 3-23-2000. If so any idea why the newwer versions have an earlier bios date?
