Check the story on NP's 3 new 3 month delivery delay.
NP, Dead by December?
http://news.cnet.com/news/0-1006-200-2234898.html?tag=st.ne.1002.tgif.ni

Best of all, they don't make it clear to people ordering now, that they wont receive their order until OCTOBER.

OK, I know we're all craving some of that Dead Kitty(tm) bounce, so keep your eyes peeled.

Oh, please try and be more literate with the spelling and conjugation an' stuff, ya know.

It appears shadow/newname/newname/Win98 has a big problem with that. And we wouldn't want to piss her off now, would we?

Lastly, shadow this is for your benefit.

I think you're a record, you're going on 5 months or so.

Geez, bad_packet, look at my posting under http://www.linux-hacker.net/cgi-bin/UltraBoard/UltraBoard.pl?Action=ShowPost&Board=bnews&Post=155&Idle=0&Sort=0&Order=Descend&Page=0&Session= from last Friday. I pointed out then that their FAQ tells about the post-1-Oct delivery for post-1-July orders. Watch out or I'll tell you about when I wire-wrapped the 5K memory expansion board for my Vic 20...

But you're right, I think. "The code word is imminent." Now what movie was that from?

the earnings won't mean boo. its the cash flow that matters. with the 3 month wait till they get anything from the new deal and the rent and payroll to meet, you gotta watch their cash flow numbers. doubt that they will say anything about it in any quarterly. they may have something to say in their analyst phone call. i know it would be a question i would be asking if they were in a mutual fund i ran.

Randy, didn't read the thread. However, they are still sort of burying the fact that its a loooong wait. I'd expect at least 30% cancel rate on that.

Either way, there should be lots of them up for sale when NP goes under.

Just funning with you, bad_packet. I wish there were more emoticons available. "Mock indignation" would be the one I'd have used. There are so many darn threads here that it is hard to keep up with them all.

I agree with bad_packet. Considering the more than 75% stock drop since the IPO,
I think it's obvious that a lack of honesty and decent PR will kill this company
once the IPO raised funding is gone. I think it's sad, because the idea was great,
but anyone who had read my "called the prez" posts knows how I feel about these
misleading bastards. At least many of us were able to get a cool form factored PC out
of it. I dare say a cheap computer, because like many of you I'm sure, I've spent prolly
$700 cumatively.

btw, i got on to first call the other day and read some of the trash from the sell side. dlj did a piece in which they calculated the enterprise value of the company and the number of subscribers. the price was $800 per subscriber. hmm... since even if npli gets folks to hang on they only get $10/mo from the isp stuff. can't imagine they get much more from the folks who advertise. somehow this doesn't sound like a long range winner.

It also looks like some of the insiders have smelt the coffee. A news article refers to the departure of Munira Fareed to another startup. And as others have pointed out, 300k on R&D is equivalent to no R&D. This company is a shell company, an intermediary that takes existing products (in this case, developed by Quanta) and re-packages and sells it. There's no term competitive advantage in that kind of business (anybody can do it). Also, it would appear that both CompUSA and CC have figured out that the Netpliance account may be sticky - witness their willingness to unload all their current inventory at $99 without enforcing the TOS.

Anyway, it was good for us while it lasted, and we can enjoy hacking and using these units long after Netpliance is gone.

It's a shame after all this bad-packet never got an i-opener to hack. Could be the reason he trolls so much.
Let's not forget the bad video driver advice he gave out- ouch.
One day he will get himself a spell checker and all will be well.
Just one question bad_packass at 29 you are ever leaving home?

This is too good! The i-openers will get dumped on the surplus market and bad_packet will still be to slow to get one. This just keeps getting better and better.

I truly think bad_packet works or worked for Netpliance. He's the only one who constantly posts that Netpliance has beaten this board. Under different names he has said this board was finished and Ken had to remove a post of his toasting the end of the I-Appliance BBS.

LOL!

Shadow, you really ought to just come out and slam me in your first post. Everyone else knows all about your other 'personas'.
BTW, I think the funniest one is the one where you are a male prostitute with gender identity problems.

Or, is that actually you true self?

Peace..... and check the stock report :)

You are the only guy with "personas" (you asswipe) why don't you pretend to be "blah" now... I know you weren't law dog he was too smart to be you. We even know you are win98 what a $hithead you are. By the way your ip address comes up when you answer your own posts as you do constantly.

For god sake man learn how to spell.
