Profile
We recently changed the BBS so you have to sign in to post.

The sign in process will send you e-mail with a computer generated password, thus verifying the e-mail account.

You do not need to sign in to read messages.

Once you log in you can change the password on your account by clicking on "Modify Profile" at the top of the page.

YOUR E-MAIL ADDRESS WILL NOT BE SHOWN IN MESSAGES unless you click the box when you sign up new. You decide if you want spam or not.

The new BBS Rules are here

Some suggestions if you are having problems signing in or posting.

Try clearing your browser's cache memory, close the browser and try again starting from the main BBS page.

If you are using cookies, when you press "Sign Out" at the top of the page, it sets a blank cookie. Try that.

Try turning cookies off (don't accept or send cookies). Ths BBS works just fine without them.

Try this last: If you could figure out what cookie is generated from here, maybe delete it so you can get a new one.

There may be two or more cookies for this site, remove them all and then sign in and see if that works. If you had a "old" account, there may still be a cookie set for that, who knows.

You can watch the cookie process by turning on "warn me before accepting a cookie" in your preferences/options or settings.

I didn't change any software dealing with sign ins, it's the same thing that's been in operation since the start. I just changed the access "permissions" for every area, and removed all the old accounts so everyone would have a verified e-mail address.

I have seen a error where it says something about not being able to find a " ***.info " file. I don't know what causes this, maybe a cookie error, but try the things above. I doubt I will be able to find or fix this problem.

If you are still having problems with signing in or posting, and tried all the above, please send a message to
webmaster@linux-hacker.net

I WILL PROBABLY NOT REPLY, but I do get the e-mail and will see what I can do.

Thanks for supporting this BBS!
