Doesn't run a Linux-type OS. This one runs the proprietary old operating system GEOS (that really runs as an MS-DOS application) made by "Geoworks" -- http://www.geoworks.com
You can buy the so-called OS without buying the hardware by going to NewDeal, Inc.:

It will run you around $75, I think.
Geoworks got its start years ago making GEOS ("Graphic Environment Operating System") for the Commodore 64 first, then the Apple 2, and finally for MS-DOS. The current iteration is really a virtual operating system that runs on top of MS-DOS. In fact, the Global PC unit you mentioned in the message above will actually run older MS-DOS applications in addition to the nifty GEOS application/OS. What's really cool about GEOS, these days, is that it includes a TCP/IP stack and a web browser, a newsgroup reader, and an IRC client, on top of the standard GeoWrite, GeoPaint, and GeoFile applications (plus an address book, calculator, etc., etc., etc.).
That's it!
