Here's a new device to keep an eye on. While
the "standard" model is built like a Mac Plus,
look around a little, and you'll find the "flipscreen" model, which looks a little more
promising.

Built in DVD/CD player, 12.1" 800x600 display

http://www.cmiworldwide.com

I called the company, and was told that the
projected start of sales is 1st week of Jan.

No info on pricing yet that I've found, or
was able to get from the company person I
talked to.

Attention: The next meeting of the Time Travellers Society
will be last Tuesday.

Or you could put the following code all on one command line, save it as a bookmark on your IE links bar. Then when you come across a non-clickable URL you could select it and click this bookmark to go there:

javascript:if(frames.length>0){alert('Frames!')}else{ulBV3pQy=document.selection.createRange().text;if(ulBV3pQy!=''){location.href=ulBV3pQy.replace(/\042/g,'').replace(/\047/g,'')}else{alert('Select%20text%20on%20page%20like: %20%20%20http://www.domain.com...')}}

Other bookmarklets (some are good surfing tools) are at http://www.bookmarklets.com

From that USAToday article:

"NadaPC is giving the units away in exchange for a three-year commitment to its Internet service at a cost of $21.95 per month and the opening of a no-fee checking account at the Internet-based CompuBank. The units became available Tuesday."

Where have we seen this before?

Based on my personal experience, don't get a Compubank account. Nothing could be worth the grief that comes with that. Also, they were recently aquired by another internet bank. Not totally sure what's happening there.

Compubank's checking and savings accounts have been sold to Netbank. I had just opened a Compubank account when it happened last week.

Regarding Nada PC. If you check their site you will see that the ICEBOX is not listed as a product. NadaPC is not the manufacturer. They are not offering the icebox as a product anymore. They planed on selling it but are not. Check out the epods message board for discussions about Nada PC.

If you check out the icebox web site you will find that you can use any ISP with the icebox.
