Yes, i have opened it up and taken pictures of the not so promising internals. I found no ide headers which would make it hard for most of to hack. If anyone is really really interested i could post the pics some time.
These are based on the Maverick chipset from Cirrus Logic. There are a few Linux ports to this platform. Since the Ceiva came out very soon after the Maverick, I'd imagine it's not far from the reference design or eval board:
