For those that may be interested, Fred Meyers is getting rid of there limited supply of the Phillips magnavox WebTV Settop boxes Model MAT972A101.
I can see a Seagate harddrive inside through the vent slots and their is a SMART CARD reader in the front panel. Mine came with a seperate IR receiver but the remote was missing. Also s-video output along with standard RCA video/audio out jacks.
It was originally sold for $199 then dropped all the way to $59. Plus they had another %50 off of clearance Items.
Just thought I would post this in case someone was interested in playing with a new toy ...

Hey 02U2 - Thanks for the link to the PenCam Trio. After seeing this one, I called up FM in Bellingham (WA), had them hold the last one in the store for me, and after supper I actually drove down from Abbotsford, BC (Canada...:]) and bought it!
Cool toy. The res is actually better than I expected.
Thanks again :)

Too bad their website sucks, and they are only in the West. I would be interested, but live in the MidWest (Central US to be Accurate, and the Eastern part at that).

Well, for those of you who missed it (sorry Mitchell) or can't find a Fred Meyer, they're on ebay for exactly the same price I paid for mine at FM. About 69 bucks. Just do a search on ebay for pencam. Tons 'O' them...

Well curiosity got the best of me and I finally bought one pencam. (Actually I exchanged a 12vdc to 120vac voltage converter that I wasn't using for it).
My opinion it's lo-resolution really sucks. Hi-resolution not a whole lot better but I guess that's because I'm use to my $1,000 digital cam. I do like the AVI mode though.
It would not be bad for quickie pic's or left it in the car for use in case of after auto accident for scene evidence photo's or something like that.
At least it warn's you if the light level is to low....
Fred Meyer's in Lake city area has 3 left...boxes are all squished though like they were at the bottom of shipping container.
