(modified 0 times) Programmer Profile not entirely sure if there is a commercial adapter out there, but cf requires that it's devices can be recognized as IDE, and in the case of the iPaq, it's likely the primary IDE controller.. so, make an adapter, connect it and be on your way.. .. remember IDE is intended to be driven on the bus itself, it requires no seperate contoller.. 03-08-2001 07:41:36

I was able to get jailbait on the 16meg sandisk but it always stops at "kernel panic: VFS: unable to mount 3:41". When I tried to boot from a 32meg external card, it would just hang at the LI of LILO Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong? I didn't bother trying as I got a microdrive (340mb) today (also due to my lack of expertise with linux). I am putting win98 on it now and I am going to see how it does. I have a linksys USB 10bt that I am going to use to connect it to my network and see how well DSL does on it. I would love to get a wireless usb adapter but it would probably cost too much. Of course, it would also be great if there was some type of battery for it. Codeman made a new area, MSN COMPANION, just the other day, so I guess we could post messages in there so they would be easier to find? I have no idea if there is a way to transfer a topic (or even if there is a way) to a different area. I will probably use the ipaq for surfing in the living room or bedroom. I put the windows 98 .cab files on the microdrive, and all went well (albeit slowly) until it got to the part where it detects hardware/installs drivers and gave me a BSOD: fatal exception 0c at 05A1:0000012A After rebooting, it hangs after loading some of the .vxd files. Which one, I can't tell as it hangs even when I pick just one of them to load. It does however boot into safe mode but then even after disabling everything, it still won't boot up - except into safe mode. After looking up the 0c exception error, it said something about stack fault. So I am not too sure what to do about that. Any ideas? 04-14-2001 16:08:08

I have not been able to get it running (I don't know enough about linux despite everything I have read and tried), nor have I been successful with windows98.
