Latest CC In-House Memo

New MessageLatest CC In-House Memo (modified 0 times) cow_dog
Just returned from my weekly visit to the local CC where I placed my first order for an I-opener in mid-March. The local manager is cool and showed me the latest in-house memo from the corporate office to local managers regarding Netpliance's letter to people who are waiting on their io from CC.

The memo denied that Netpliance is speaking on behalf of CC and the tone of the memo indicated as much. It did acknowledge that CC has furnished the names and addresses of those who are waiting on hold for an io, but said CC would not furnish Netpliance with any credit card information.

Regarding the TOS, the memo said CC would not participate in any way with Netpliance as far as administration of the TOS at sale time. The memo said anything to do with the TOS was strictly between the purchaser and Netpliance.

Now, when do I get my io? Your guess is as good as mine.

Which means that, since there is NO contract between Netpliance and a Circuit City customer, there is NO TOS on any unit bought at Circuit City.

That is, if they are ever delivered. :P

Just went to the local CC and picked up my 2 IOs. No mention of any TOS, just that I would have to pay %15 restocking
fee if I opened the boxes.. No problem I said. 4/7 manufacture dates. Everything the same still, however, these boxes
had been opened and resealed, unlike my first one. I was worried for a little bit.. :)

This is a crock! NP got the names/addresses
from CC somehow. They didn't just appear on NPs computers by dumb luck.

sheesh.

Alli, read carefully you tard. He said CC *did* furnish with N&A, but not credit info. Read twice before you become a hothead.

Ritalin is for script kiddies. Some need a prozac

well I missed a detail, Oops, sue me. Working and hacking
the IO leaves little time for sleep.

Anywho, I got mine. Pulled the socket, flashed a eprom and
soldered it in. It was easier than dealing with epoxy.
Real hackers can solder too. Though I admit to having the
right equipment to deal with this sillyness.

Runs FreeBSD fine.
