| No offense taken to Parasyght's comment, what I meant was the price/performance ratio is way out of whack compared to a hacked i-O for a couple of hundred bucks or so. They are interesting systems, but are targeted to the industrial market that needs physical 'beefiness' and doesn't flinch at dropping $4000+ for a system that still needs a CPU/RAM/HD. Other than the PPC-103 model, they're thick as a brick (or two), and weigh a ton. Even the PPC-103 comes in at 8 pounds. The other models all lack the elegance of an i-O or Webplayer sitting on your counter or mounted on/in the wall. And they've already got everything in 'em, so no fun to hack.
It's tough enough keeping the household CEO around here happy with my little toys, I can just imagine that conversation: "But honey, it was only $4500!"
I'd have to get a real dog so I'd have a house to sleep in....
