RE:Is anyone going to E3 (modified 0 times) SuperRob Profile | Email Spoken like someone who's never actually BEEN to E3. Here's how it works, people. 1. Register On-Line. 2. Get badge in the mail. 3. Go to E3. 4. Go to the registration booth (no, you're not REALLY registered yet), and show your ID and other credentials. 5. Get your Badge HOLDER for your badge. 6. Get your badge checked visually by a guard on your way in. Now, people seem to think it's as easy as copying a badge. It's not. The badges have a "code" on them, and it matches up with the COLOR of the badge holder you get at the second part of registration. The guards can see this sort of thing at a distance, which is why it looks like they aren't really paying attention. They are. For some of the more EXCLUSIVE events within E3 (like the media breakfast), you need to get your badge scanned on the way in. I'm not saying it's not possible to bluff your way in. But it's not as easy as parasyght would have you believe. However, I've seen a lot of people kicked out of the show thinking that they had it made. 05-04-2001 16:12:19

As for the fake badges, that's BS. We know all about them. They stand out like a fart in church. The show's in 5 major halls and two dozen meeting rooms with guards at every entrance. Sure you may be good enough to slip past one, maybe two door guards but not all of them. Once you get your toy badge taken away from you the show, for you anyhow, is over. Besides the booths will want to scan your real badge before they give you any good swag. No scan, no T-Shirt. To get to see the very good stuff requires a real badge and a good story. Not just anyone, even with a real badge, has access to the smaller demo's and that's where the cool tech' is hidden. What will you do when your "badge" won't scan and they want you to remove it from the holder to try again? Your odds for a successful entry aren't good. You should parctice your scam across the street at the big post show party they always hold in that parking lot on Pico and Figueroa. Better models, better games, free drinks and fewer guards. Anyways, the top image of the two passes is real. It has all the info blocked out so i dont lose my privileges. THe bottom one was created in illistrator.
