I've been looking at these things for at least a year, waiting for prices to drop. I've seen one called Radius at Sam's club for $399. The only real way to compair these screens, is to see saveral different brands, models, sitting sise-by-side. I'm sold on Samsung...model 570V or 570S. The S model pivots......I've seen it for $499. As soon as it falls below $400....I'll start selling thimgs.
I just got my 15" ViewSonice for appr. USD 350 (see instructions at http://www.mfet.net/index.html?action=tellafriend&A=764). Keep in mind that the USD 335 they quote is not quite correct since you are going to have to pay tax on the thing.
I like the Gateway profile2, I'm thinking ahead for the summer months when they start doing rolling blackouts here. My 21" CRT Monitor is a juice hog.I don't need a heater in my hobby room during cooler days with this monitor on after an hour!
I'm considering modifying the UPS to 2 larger 12v marine deep discharge batteries instead of using the 2 small 12v internal sealed lead acids. Run that lower current Lcd all day and night on a charged UPS! Probably with enough leftover juice for a small light and tiny room fan!
