Hmm,
Doesn't appear to be breaking Moores law as yet... after the hype of the PIII, P4 and Crusoe, think I'll sit back and wait to see what yet to be delivered price performance benefits are actually produced (in 2003 )!

RE:IBM Announces Major Computer Chip Speed Boost (modified 0 times)
Moores Law says the chip speed will double every 18 months. IBM is shooting for a 35% increase in 2 years.....doesn't appear to be breaking any laws to me other than the moral one about lies

RE:IBM Announces Major Computer Chip Speed Boost (modified 0 times)
If IBM pulls this off, they will exceed Moore's law. The silicon stretching technique can be utilized with conventional technology. So, in two years they will have the increases due to Moore's law (higher transitor density) plus the 35% speed increase for silicon stretching.Glitch
Electronics run on smoke, if you let the smoke out they won't work

everyone realizes Moore's Law isn't really hard and fasr like Newton's Laws, right? it's a computer geek thing we like to use as a benchmark for progress...you can't really break something that has no solid foundation, other than just a theory
