The pics are obviously faked!!!! hardware1 is a Netpliance troll!!!! I could to better than *that* with an 8-year-old copy of NeoPaint!!!! Anybody who believes the rumors of epoxy on the BIOS is an idiot!!!! 
Seriously, thank you very much for the pics, hardware1. To me, it just looks like the epoxy flowed out along the edge before it set. Might have been a warm day when they applied it (Years ago I cast some plastic gears in epoxy, and heated the two parts in an oven before mixing to reduce the viscosity so it would flow into the little teeth in the mold)
You must be a Martian, though... One hand to hold the tool, one hand for the magnifying glass and one hand for the camera...
