If your long term plans involve a K6, don't wait too long. New parts will be showing up through the end of 2002, but the model you want may start getting scarce.

Will that be the last of the Socket 7 cpus? My understanding is that all of VIA's cpus are Socket 370 and the cpus for embedded systems like the NS Geode all use nonstandard mounting like BGA. Winchip is gone. Rise made such a small ripple in the market it’s hard to tell that they were ever there in the first place, so how do you tell if they are dead? Am I missing anything?
