Comp-USA has now publicly listed the SKU for the I-Opener (274376) and the product now shows up on their website along with precarious information on availability in local stores.
Be aware Comp-USA is -NOT- permitting mail orders on this item. If you are directed to a National Sales Center during an attempt to pre-order/backorder the product, you will be at a dead end. Only in-store orders and pickups are on offer at Comp-USA.
Most Comp-USA stores will -NOT- have any I-Openers in stock on Sunday. The vast majority of shipments that arrived this week have already been pre-sold, often by individuals ordering very large quantities. Comp-USA is not getting any details on when the next shipment might be made, which makes for bad news for those who didn't get one during the first round. It appears Comp-USA stores will now join the waiting game being played by Circuit City.
Netpliance is now filling orders in this order of priority:
1) Direct orders - they get you locked in to the terms of service this way and defray their high shipping costs;
2) Comp-USA - new product launch got special attention by Netpliance, but the hackers gobbled them up first;
3) Circuit City - dribs and drabs of whatever is left. Stores are trying to fill long backorders with the 3-5 units they are receiving every few weeks. No new order accepted, product dropped from Circuit City's database.
