Ever since I got TimeWarner digital Cable I have been looking at the cable box and wondering what it would take to hack it. It has a boat load of connectors on the back (including ethernet)! I did some research on the web today and it looks like you can get them off of eBay for about $50 (or less). The CPU is a microSparc 150Mhz and they have 16 Mb of memory. I know that's not a lot to work with but I was wondering what would it take to make this thing into a digital video recorder with Internet access.

Has anyone out there hacked one of these yet ?
