Need help please

Ok frist of all I know I can't spell
I was dumm enough to get a vius on my network 2 machine so inorder to get rid of it
I formated C:
A:format c:
it formated ok but I dont have the whole hard drive showing up I removed the partison set it back up again still dont have all of it
I missing about 8 meg on a 20 gig hard drive now I would not care but I have tryed to installed 95 98 me 2000 xp and both harddrive will not install any of these ether they come up with error or under 98 I get not enotht ram to install
I have 1.2 gig of ram ?? I took a 10 gig harddrive and put me on it and the machince run great in fact I am using it to post this megg.
so I have 2 20 gig harddrive that wont work any more any idea on how to format it all and get rid of what ever is hiding in the 8 meg that I missing
allso put a 10 gig in the other machine and it work too

Use the commmand "fdisk". Then follow screen directions. To totally reformat and reclaim all space on the disk-- 1. Use the boot floppy to boot to a:. Run fdisk. Choose "yes" if you want to reclaim all the space on the hard disk. 2. Click on the option to view partion info. 3. delete all the partitions. 4. Reboot to a: drive. 5. run fdisk again. 6. Click on add a partition and follow direction. 7. Reboot. 8. Now you can run format. Use the command syntax: format c:/u/s. You will get the hang of it after just a few tries, at most.

Win98/ME often chokes with more than 512MB.

I bumped my machine from 256 to 768 and had loads of problems. Removed one stick of 256MB and it works fine. This problem is documented on Microsoft's website...and yet they don't offer an acceptable solution.

It took 3 times partiton it before it would give me 100% of my drive
SiliconIce I want to thank you too you taught me something I will bet that why ME wont install on my mother machine
