The OQO features full Web browsing with Internet Explorer and
has a four-inch "super bright" VGA color LCD -- about the same size as a Palm screen.
fully functional wireless PC powered by a Crusoe TM5800 processor that runs at up to 1 GHz and uses the Windows XP Pro
(( Does that mean Performance Rated ~ 500Mhz !!! (based on Gateway/AOL Connected Touch Pad !)))
Measuring 4.9 by 2.9 by .9 inches, the OQO weighs less than nine ounces and can fit easily into a shirt pocket
Price: About $1,000 expect the first machines will become available in the second half of 2002.
It also has a Synaptics touch-screen, 256 MB of memory, a 10 GB hard drive, a USB port, audio and
Bluetooth wireless technology. It runs for three to eight hours on battery power

The OQO device contains a screen with near print quality resolution (200dpi)
resulting in a better user experience when watching MPEG formatted movies and video.
The 4" diagonal LCD screen is the optimum in size and weight
for holding in a hand at a typical distance that of 8-20" from the eye.
The relative size of the OQO LCD is equivalent to a notebooks with a 12-14" LCD
that rests on a desk at a distance of 1-2 feet from a typical user.
(I hope it is 800 X 600, but VGA is only 640 x 480, which Windows normally Sux @)

The OQO initially contains a Toshiba 1.8" HDD with 10GB of storage.
This is enough space to store the Windows XP operating system and over 1000 MP3 songs.
Alternatively the HDD can store an average of 3 movies in MPEG4 format.
(Now that We all have 2.5" laptop hard drives.)

For office and email applications, the OQO ultra-personal computer has a battery life of 8 hours.
For MPEG movies the average battery life is 2 hours. For MP3 music the battery life is 7 hours.
The OQO device has a standby battery life of over a week. (I could live with this.)

I wonder what will make it to the Shelf & what will be Vaperware !

Well, easy to see why this got the Microsoft seal of approval vs. Tiqit http://www.tiqit.com. It's faster, has a bigger screen, and has integrated 802.11b and Bluetooth. But I have to say its nice to have the thumb board on the Tiqit. Not sure which is actually smaller.

I would love for this thing to actually be released...but the web site is so flashy it makes me think they spent all of their R&D money for creating it...you know, a strong product sells itself dispite the advertising...a weak product requires all the advertising it can get.
