I've read messages on other boards discussing K-Byte memory products (usually found at low prices) and wondering about their reliability and service. Here's my personal experience, and I hope it will help everyone else.

I purchased a K-Byte 512-megabyte PC133 DIMM from Office Max in December 2001, and it failed this past weekend after two and a half months of otherwise perfect operation. I left a telephone message for K-Byte this weekend, and e-mailed them with details as well. Monday morning at 10:30 EST, they called me back, reviewed the situation, and promptly issued a return authorization for the memory. I honestly expected to wait several days for a response, and then expected to endure endless circular discussions before obtaining a return authorization.

It shouldn't be big news when you actually receive good customer service, but that's another discussion altogether . If you have any concerns or hesitation when buying any of these brands (all distributed by the same company) please consider my good experience.

K-Byte / Reptron / SpecTek

DISCLAIMER: I don't work for, and am in no way related to this company. I'm just a happy customer.
