NomadJukebox.net has the 6 gb 9.5mm laptop drives back in, I have bought several of these drives and all were really good drives. These are the drives that come out of the MP3 players for larger drives.

http://www.nomadjukebox.net/6gbfujlaphar.html $49.99 + Shipping

Perhaps, but these drives are all but new and are good drives with Toshiba warrenty. You never know what you might get on eBay. I don't mind paying $10 extra if I know what I am getting.

I still feel the pain from a eBayer named MaryEEE@Aol.com that stuck me with a minus $200 after I "won" 5 auctions of her's of hard drives that I had to sent back all the drives to her because they were bad and then a month later she left the country. Ebay wouldn't do much since she sent me the drives from the auction and PayPal told me that I would receive my money back when ever funds would become available, I am still waiting.

Fyi - GoogleGear.com has good prices too on new drives

I clicked on the nomadjukebox link and I was presented with a screen to buy a Fujitsu 6GB drive. Fujitsu != TOSHIBA. Buyer beware...

Yes, it looks like they have changed it now. I don't know much quality of the Fujitsu drives, the Toshiba's that there were good (very quiet, fast, and so far dependable).

I have had a Fujitsu 8 Gig for over a year now, realy quite, the CPU fan makes more noise. And I have not had any errors when testing.

IMHO, Fujitsu notebook drives are better than most Toshibas of similar vintage. They're quieter, consume lower power and have lower failure rates, in my experience. I've seen a fair number of dead Toshibas in the 1G to 4G range, but no Fujitsus so far.

Looking at the trashed end aspect,(My pile of junk notebook drives) I've noted that IBM is the one I find the most and for some reason they usually are not fixable (Bad heads or mechanical failure) wipe or zap won't work on them.
Fujitsu and Toshiba are pretty much even and most of the time they can be repaired (if there is no mechanical or disk surface damage) by using an old (V1) Quantum zero fill utility. Least frequently found is Hitachi and believe it or not, Seagate.

Just going by what I find.
